A wonderful lakeside community and residential suburb of Sacramento, Granite Bay is considered one of the area’s best kept secrets. It derives its name from the granite that was quarried from the banks of the bay to be used in the construction of the Folsom Dam. Granite Bay is known for its great location, highly rated schools, low crime rate and beautiful natural landscape. The community was officially named Granite Bay in 1987. It is just 30 minutes from Sacramento, 1 hour from Tahoe, and 2 hours from San Francisco.
